Resolute began with what we called “Paper Lights”. We based the collection on calendared aramid, a paper-like material with the soft, glowing appeal of paper but with vastly superior performance characteristics.  The fixtures had distinctive personalities but were comfortable as part of the background in a space. The fixtures balanced familiarity and gentle appeal with robust performance.

More important than the look or technical performance of this “paper” was the approach and intent behind it. “Paper Lights” articulated a belief in straightforward, honest products. Products that create a lot with a little. Direct solutions with timeless appeal. “Paper Lights” also manifested a very real approach to starting a business and a brand from nothing with nothing. Labor, space and components were extremely carefully considered because they were intensely precious. The business model developed with “Paper Lights” is still at the heart of Resolute today.
