Group Health Puyallup

New Regional Medical Center  – Puyallup, Washington

Designer: Collins Woerman

Seattle-based design firm Collins Woerman selected three custom Resolute fixtures for the new Group Health Puyallup Medical Center.  The 53,000 sf facility is sited two miles from the clinic it replaces; the new Puyallup facility is a prototype for Group Health’s future medical centers — with the capacity to more efficiently serve as many as 30,000 members with less waiting, less moving from room to room, less stress.

Eight custom pod-shaped pendants were created for the building lobby;  ten strips of Knoll Textiles’ Imago Lintel “White Light” contribute a bright, sophisticated, satiny look to the organic form of the 30” tall outer shade.  An inner diffuser of high-impact acrylic softens the light produced by two 24 watt high output T5 lamps.

The pendant is fully enclosed — appropriate to a healthcare setting.  The top is enclosed with a white powder-coated steel disk set in an opal white acrylic outer ring, the bottom has a removable opal white acrylic disk for access to lamps for replacement.

Pod pendant fixtures are ceiling mounted on 1/2” diameter stainless steel tubing.

A dozen custom dimming and non-dimming SAVOYE pendants measuring 36” in diameter and 12” high feature outer shades of Knoll Textiles’ Imago Lintel “Mahogany”; inner shades of 1/16” frosted high-impact copolymer and a 31” diameter opal white acrylic bottom disk diffuse the light of 4 x 26 watt triple GX24q-3 base lamps.

Dimming and non-dimming OTTO 2 CFL Loop Pendants with opal white hand-blown glass also appear in the facility.
