Joel VandenBrink, founder of Two Beers Brewing Company, Seattle Cider and Sound Craft Seltzer, approached Resolute to create wall sconces for a bunkhouse addition to a family cabin in the San Juan Islands.
Miller Hull Partnership designed both the original cabin and bunkhouse addition. The bunkhouse expands capacity of an architecturally significant adjacent cabin to accommodate a growing extended family.
MANIFOLD was selected as the starting point for a fixture variation ideally suited to the clean architectural style.
Designers wanted gentle light to flatter light and dark wood finishes, and a quiet sculptural presence when the space is exclusively day lit.
The scale of the project is compact, fixtures had to be shallow and comfortable to walk past. The same fixture is used throughout, varying only slightly in size.
