Like Rec Room’s mega Dragster conference table and Game table, the Blow Up table for the smaller conference room has a top made from repurposed bowling lane surface.
Two wood table top sections fit on a single-piece welded steel base. Six decorative leg covers were slipped over the subtly angled table legs to be secured above leveling feet, appearing to hover just off the floor. Five covers are missile shaped, the last leg cover is an emphatic exclamation point.
The table top is comprised of two pieces, each measuring 72” x 42 1/2”. The refinished bowling lane material is formed from strips of maple and vertical grain fir nailed together, ~ 2 1/2” thick.
The table base is welded steel to support the significant weight of the table tops, it received a blackened finish.
Five of the six decorative table leg covers are riveted aluminum with a lustre finish. The exclamation point is fabricated from riveted aluminum components with a welded steel ball as its point. Its vertical element has a soft gold tone finish; the ball has a matte orange acrylic automotive lacquer finish.
